Did you know that it is possible to find traces and remains of animals that died thousands or millions of years ago? Such traces are called fossils, and they can be both large and small. On Verdens Kuleste Dag, researchers and fossil collectors from Naturhistorisk Museum are eager to tell you more about fossils, where you can find them and how they can be prepared. Naturhistorisk museum holder til i Botanisk hage og har Norges største naturvitenskapelige samlig. De har så mye som 6,2 millioner forskjellige ting! Ved siden av all den spennende forskningen de gjør, er oppdatering og vedlikehold av samlingene en viktig del av oppgavene.
Naturhistorisk Museum is located in the Botanical Gardens in Oslo and has Norway’s largest collection of natural artifacts. They have as many as 6.2 million different specimens! In addition to all the exciting research they do, updating and maintaining the collection is an important part of their everyday tasks.
